Ludlow

Whatever your interests we’re sure Ludlow will cater for them. ‘Country Life’ magazine described Ludlow as “England’s finest market town” and with 500 Listed Buildings of great diversity (including our splendid Castle set high above the River Teme) our historic heritage will delight. Ludlow has a reputation as a centre of gastronomic quality with traditional food shops, markets, and two Michelin star restaurants to tempt you.

The September annual Food Festival held in the Castle Grounds is now a 3-day event, the two week mid-summer Shakespeare Festival and the annual Autumn Medieval Fayre are ever popular.

Come at other times too and have a few days or a long weekend exploring not only our town but the surrounding countryside – walking/cycling/horseriding and Ludlow Races – whatever your passion you’re sure to enjoy a gentle paced few days in our beautiful area.

There is plenty here to choose from but personal favorites include pub lunches or suppers at The Unicorn, The Wheatsheaf or The Charlton Arms… Very special gastronomic celebrations at Mr. Underhills or La Becasse... afternoon tea at De Greys or the Castle and further afield National Trust properties at Croft and Berrington.
